More than just Mo’s
November is now spelt with an ‘M’. Movember has quickly grown year on year almost as fast as the mo’s that sprout during the month. Who knew that using facial hair to raise money and start conversations around the current men’s health crisis would become so popular!
There are 60 deaths from suicide every hour globally. Therefore to highlight this, Movember is also encouraging men to Move 60km during the month – walking or running. This is where we come in.
Join our Men only walk
We are hosting a men only Movember 30km guided walk on 17th November and we want you to join us. 10% of bookings will be donated to Movember, and you are free to raise sponsorship, with no minimum target. This money will make a difference to men’s health – testicular cancer, prostate cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
If you have committed to Move 60km over the month, this walk will take you to the halfway point in one go. Or if you want to undertake a one off charity fundraising walk this could be for you.
How will it work?
We will start and finish in Hathersage in the Peak District. The walk takes in woodland valleys, gritstone edges and moorland and hopefully we will be rewarded with views over the national park as we go and generally have a good day out.
Join on your own or with your mates. Our groups of up to 12 walkers will be led by UK qualified Mountain Leaders, who have all been trained in first aid. We will also have a support vehicle enroute to provide refreshments and first aid cover.
We will be walking for 6+ hours so you will need a reasonable level of fitness. However, we won’t be racing around – the leader will always stay with the slowest member of the group.
What are you waiting for?
As the guys at Movember say “Put one foot in front of the other to change the face of men’s health”. Book your space now!

What a great idea to support men in Movember.
Thank you! It should be a good day 🙂
Wow. Love this idea. So cool.
Thanks for that Brad. It should be a really good day.
So great that you’re joining in with Movember! I love that they have associated the exercise with the stats. I’ve started a team and work and am trying to encourage others to join in
That’s great that you’ve got a team together. I have to admit, the ‘60 suicides an hour globally’ figure shocked me. If we can raise money to make even the slightest of difference to this number it has to be a good thing.
