44 miles, three days of walking, 2 nights of wild camping
This guided walk will take you across the Cairngorm national park on a route that will see no road crossings during the full three days.
We’re still firming up details, but cars will be left in or near Dalwhinnie and we will arrange transport to the start at Cock Bridge on the north east side of the national park. We will walk across the Cairngorm National Park taking in the summit of Beinn a’Bhuird which at 1,196m is the highest point on the route. If the weather is kind we’ll have views of the stunning Corgarff Castle as well as the hills of the Cairngorm Plateau. We’ll wild camp on route, but don’t worry if you haven’t done it before, our UK qualified Mountain Leader will be there to help.
You will carry everything you need for camping in the wilds, including your food, although there will be opportunities to gather fresh water on the route.
Don’t worry if you don’t own all of the necessary kit. We have tents, sleeping mats and bags, stoves and rucksacks that we can lend you if needed. You’ll need to have your own sturdy walking boots, a set of waterproofs, warm layers and food (we can advise you on the sorts of food you’ll need to bring).
We will provide a kit list and food fact sheet prior to the event. And you can contact us with any questions in the lead up to the walk. Our mountain leader holds the appropriate first aid certificate and insurance.
We will open this walk to bookings in early January 2019 – if you would like to be added to the waiting list please email firstname.lastname@example.org
