Scrambling

“Scrambling”

If you’ve ever used your hands to steady yourself on a steep rocky section while you’ve been out walking then you’ve been scrambling. Scrambling allows you to explore more challenging and exposed routes. We will tailor your adventure to your experience and needs. Group sizes will depend on routes chosen so please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Introductory Scrambling
New to scrambling? Then this is the course for you. We will look at guidebook and route choice and the skills needed to undertake scrambling. On easy routes we will look at movement, effective positions and the judgements that need to be made. Building on these foundation skills we will start to introduce technical equipment such as rope, technical skills such as anchor selection and knots through to belay construction and stance management.

£150 per day for 1 person, £100 per person per day for 2 people, £75 per person per day for 3-4 people. Maximum of 4 people.

Advanced Scrambling
Building on the foundations covered in Introductory Scrambling we take the same core fundamentals but start to apply them in the grade II/III environment. Refining the skills we will look at efficient movement, belay construction, moving together, lowering and what to do if it all goes wrong.

£175 per day for 1 person, £110 per person per day for 2 people. Maximum of 2 people.

We will provide:
A fully qualified Mountaineering Instructor Award holder
Full day itinerary based on the groups experience, fitness and objectives
Kit list
