Canoe Expeditions
Guided canoe expeditions and river descents around ScotlandA
Scottish Open Canoe Expedition
10th – 13th September 2018
You will be spending four days with a small group on Loch Lomond in an open canoe, with wilderness camping on the islands and shore, surrounded by stunning mountain views. You will be guided by our experienced canoe guide and will be able to develop your paddling skills during the trip – so there is no requirement for prior experience, just a reasonable level of fitness.
We will set off from Balmaha on Loch Lomond at on the morning of day one after spending a short time covering the basics. From here we will spend four days paddling the lower half of the Loch and camping on the islands and shores. We will return to Balmaha mid afternoon on the final day.
RockRiver Expeditions will provide boats, paddles, buoyancy aids and dry bags/barrels. We can also provide tents, gas trangia stoves, sleeping bags and mats if required. You are of course welcome to use your own kit should you wish. A full kit list will be emailed out with your booking confirmation, and we will be happy to chat if you have any questions around the suitability of your kit.
You will not need any previous paddling experience as the group will be led by our experienced guide and you will develop your skills during the week.
Finally, food is not included but we can advise suitable foods for this type of expedition if necessary.
